The timing belt should always be replaced within the manufacturers specified period to ensure no problems with the timing system.

The timing belt connects the crankshaft to the camshaft(s), which in turn controls the opening and closing of the engine's valves. In some engine designs, the timing belt may also be used to drive other engine components such as the water pump and oil pump. When a timing belt is replaced, correct belt tension is critical. Too loose and the belt will whip, too tight and it will whine and put excess strain on the bearings of the cogs. In either case belt life will be drastically shortened.

When was the last time you had your timing belt replaced?

Providing systematic engine mounting, bushing and shock absorber mounting.

No matter the make and model, your car is essentially a rather heavy mass of metal, plastic, rubber, glass and fabric. When all of that weight is moving at speed, physics dictates that a lot of different forces will be acting upon you and your car. Your suspension’s job is to counter some of those forces, and redirect or absorb others. Your suspension will have been engineered to accommodate the countless combinations of surfaces and movements that go into even the most mild everyday driving, and ensure that rubber meets road no matter what.

Of course, like everything, suspension isn’t without its limits - nor is it without the potential for things to go wrong, but with a little knowledge of what is going on underneath your car, and with a bit of awareness as to the type of setup you have, and the condition it’s in, you can minimise the risk and enjoy a safe and comfortable driving experience.
